Vice Chair
Surfrider Vancouver is seeking a committed Vice Chair to join our Executive Committee for a 2 year volunteer term (approximately 20–30 hours/month).
The Vice Chair supports the Chair and plays a key role in growing chapter programs and campaigns. This includes helping lead Executive Committee meetings, mentoring volunteers, supporting events like beach cleans and fundraisers, contributing to strategy and partnerships, and assisting with budgets, grants, and reporting. The Vice Chair is a voting member of the Executive Committee and attends monthly meetings.
We’re looking for someone who:
Is familiar with (or eager to learn) Vancouver programs and campaigns
Is organized, collaborative, and comfortable communicating with volunteers and partners
Has basic digital skills (email, Google Docs, social media; Mailchimp/WordPress an asset)
Can contribute to at least one local beach clean per year
Has a BC driver’s license and access to a vehicle

Beach Clean Leads
Surfrider Vancouver is seeking two volunteer Beach Clean Leads to take the lead in organizing beach clean initiatives at local Vancouver beaches. These volunteers work together to coordinate with community members, plan and host clean-up events, and engage volunteers in hands-on action to protect our coastlines. This role is well suited to someone who is organized, comfortable taking initiative, and able to commit to regular involvement.
Time commitment: 1-3 hours/week, with additional hours around clean-up events
Meetings: Monthly check in meetings
General Volunteers
We’re always looking for volunteers with a wide range of skills and interests to support our work. This includes content creators (such as bloggers, photographers, and graphic designers), event planners, environmental experts, campaigners, and others interested in getting involved with one of our ongoing programs, such as Blue Water Task Force, Water Friendly Business, or our campaign teams.
